THE DISTRIBUTION v3 SD ====================== This SD card image contains the RELOADED edition of QL IS 30 2014 - THE DISTRIBUTION for use with SD card based QL compatible systems. QL, what? Never heard of the QL and its software Environment. http://sinclairql.net/what.html The QL software Environment is not a type of Unix. It's not a flavour of Linux. It's certainly got nothing to do with Windows or MacOS! The QL software Environment is its own thing - a very specialised 68K-based single-user multitasking operating system. So if you've not used it before, you will find it doesn't behave quite the same way as anything else. The QL community think it's better! We hope you enjoy your experience with the QL software Environment. Find out more at: http://sinclairql.net/repository.html#TheDistribution http://sinclairql.net/repository.html#QLE This is a stand-alone edition of THE DISTRIBUTION, aka "QL IS 30 2014 - THE DISTRIBUTION, RELOADED edition!", pre-configured to use QL/E, for using it on a SDHC card with a Sinclair QL Professional Computer with QL-SD hardware, a MIST FPGA based computer or a Q68 single-board computer system. To simplify we name all those systems QL. Before you can use it on your QL system, you have to write the image file "SDHC_4GB_QL_THE_DISTRIBUTION.img", located in the \QL-SDHC\ folder, to a SDHC card. To do so, Windows users best use the popular application Win32DiskImager. Once you have successfully written the image to the card, you can use the card with your QL-SD, MIST or Q68 system. Insert the SDHC card into the SD card slot of your QL system and power-on the machine. By default, THE DISTRIBUTION boots into QL/E. For information about THE DISTRIBUTION please read the file QL_is_30_2014_The_Distribution.pdf in the root folder. THE DISTRIBUTION is explicitly non-commercial. It is a well maintained project and updated versions will be published from time to time exclusively on this website: http://www.sinclairql.net/ QL forever!
